As a dog owner, it is very likely you will find yourself at an occasion when you need your dog to get in the car. You might need take him to the vet or a park that neither of you could reach by foot. Therefore it is important to know that good measures must be taken before you start cruising with your canine.

The first step is to confine your canine rider. The canine is required to learn that his vehicular territory is strictly in the back. This minimises the chances of an accident should he suddenly decides to move about, with the end result involving a vehicle claim. Good travelling rules need to instilled into your dog by using the “stay” command as he settles in the appropriate position. Whenever he gets fidgety, assertively recite the command until he gets the idea.

Riding a car can also be tedious process for any pet, so it is up to you to offer some creature comforts. There should be enough area for the pooch to spread out his limbs, and you might need to consider a larger transport and look for large car reviews if you got yourself a sizeable hound. Try and ease his travel anxiety by bringing along his most prized trinket or cloth. Ideally you don’t want to have to regularly turn around to calm him down, as this can be dangerous for your driving.

Know that many dogs are also vulnerable to car sickness, as not all of them can be taught to keep his sight on the frontal window to lessen his dizziness. It is also regrettable that certain dogs are just much more inclined to get sick in a car than other dogs. If necessary, your vet should be able to prescribe your dog with medication like xanax.

Another note if you are going on a long distance road trip, feed your dog a reduced amount of dinner on the night before the trip, and do not feed him anything right before he mounts the vehicle. Doing so can ensure minimum amounts of contents in his stomach, which can easily be disturbed when he is in a moving vehicle. When using treats in the car, make it a rare occasion.

Since a dog is more susceptible to a heat stroke than us, be wary of the air flow issue. Under certain conditions, a vehicle’s interior temperature can become twenty degrees hotter than the outdoors. Depending on the weather, this can kill both animals and minors alike. If a dog becomes too restless over an open window however, it might be better to use the air con instead.

As a bonus, check out the local pet stores and online for seat belts designed to work on dogs. Some of these harnesses are designed to work directly with the seat belt sockets of your car. These apparatus can keep your dogs from moving around too much, and boost their survival rate in the event of a incidental impact.

A new vehicle might make it easier on your dogs if your current one is too small. If you are looking at used cars however, it is essential to check the car history online so you won’t be paying for a stolen one.

Most people who love staying with pets cannot comfortably stay away from their pets for a long time. The dog is commonly known to be man’s best friend and the love that exists between the two cannot be compared to anything.

The bond is so strong that when it is time to leave for work or even travel to a specific place, since the dog owner has become emotionally attached to the dog; he/she finds it very hard to leave it a them.

As is routine dogs are not allowed to workplaces and even when it comes to travelling they have to be left at home alone to play on their own.

These dogs tend to get bored and do not enjoy the fact that they have to be at home alone, this makes them to engage in queer behaviors as a sign that they want to get affection and socialization.

It is known that dogs that destroy people’s property or engage in unnecessary barking tend to seek for affection since they are deemed to be lonely and are looking for people whom they can stay with.

You can comfort your dog by taking it to a dog day care where other dog owners who are busy during the day bring their dogs there to be taken care of and if not they can be taken out at least three times weekly to a local pet hotel where they can get the chance to meet other dogs and play with them. This will make them socialize with the other dogs and provide the best chance for them to reduce the cases of loneliness.

When you do this even when you go to work or attend a special function or even travel to a far off place, you do not need to worry about the issue of your fog feeling lonely or being idle since he will get a chance to play with the other dogs in the day care and even end up learning a few tricks since the dog will already be friends with the other dogs.

By giving this chance to your dog it rarely feels neglected and abandoned and in fact it may end up feeling like it is at home since most of the dogs love to socialize and stay together in affection.

August 7th, 2010 was a big day for the entire family. We would be flying out of Ontario,CA and headed to Indianapolis,IN. This was our first trip ever where the dog went with us. Taylor is an 12-pound dorito eating dog that thinks she weighs about 75 pounds. Our children were flying experts but we had to take some extra safety precautions for Taylor.

We went out and got her one of those expensive airline carriers. They cost enough that you wonder if the airline gets a cut. Then we went to the veterinarian to get some medicine to safely get her some rest on the flights. When we got to the flying day, the first thing I did was break up the pills in some milk. She was appreciative of the milk and did not notice the extra flavor. I was sure that the pills would get Taylor at least 8 hours of rest. Of course, with an airport comes curiosity.

The pills that were supposed to put her down and out for 8 hours made her groggy for two hours and ornery for 6. On our first flight, she was still very groggy. We went through the airport checkpoint and she tried to give security a lick in the face. That brought a smile to their faces and got us through fast. Her pre-flight and first flight were pretty quiet. She was a little scared but we talked to her throughout the flight.

When we hit Atlanta, she was up and moving. There were no dogs to bark at but all interesting looking people were given a taste of the puppy bark. Keep in mind that Taylor firmly believes that she is a 85 pound wolf dog in a 11 pound body. We went looking for food but had to eat outside because Taylor did not meet the restaurant dress codes. During that time, she protected us from all overbearing waiters and waitresses.

We ate our food and then boarded our flight to Indy. As a carry on, at least Taylor was always close by. When we hit the ground at Indy, the puppy was glad to be on the ground. She also was quite happy to be able to go to the bathroom and eat some treats. It was humid outside. Taylor adjusted. She did a great job of flying. A lot of that success came by looking out for her safety and preparing her for the flight. Remember, flying can certainly be a very nervous time for a dog.

If you are a dog lover, you cannot picture what life is like without your dog. There is a special relationship that every pet owner has with his dog. You will rarely find a devoted relationship with a pet comparing to that one which your dog gives you.

The relationship that exists between a dog and his owner is that like two best friends. Many times, the thought about going on holiday and leaving the dog alone is not palatable.

Unfortunately, it is not normal to go to work and have the dog running next to you in the office corridors or go on an air trip and have the passenger next to us being a canine.

Dogs are known to get bored if the owner is off to school the whole day or back at work. This may make the dog want to do things that may get him into trouble.

Normally, for a dog to be barking the whole day it is normally just lacking stimulation and is out to seek attention from people around. These dogs end up destroying property.

To reduce the amount of boredom that your pet experiences, you should take it to a pet day care center where it will be engaged in activities that will cut down the boredom. These activities include play and exercise. These will be able to change the dog’s attitude because it is not lonely.

The second advantage of having a doggie day care is the fact that whenever you need to take a trip somewhere and you cannot carry your dog, the dog can remain there without you having to worry too much about its well-being.

The dog feels cared for and less lonely. You will also feel different because you have no conscience worries as regarding whether your dog is safe or not. You do not feel as if you have abandoned your dog for the worst.

Nearly every family or social event involves the eating of food and the imbibing or drinks in the celebration. Consider Christmas, birthdays, anniversaries, and weddings. In this article, I would like to talk about that centre piece of the wedding reception: the wedding cake.

The guests come to eat, drink and be merry and the bride’s parents always put a great deal of work into the organization of the wedding reception. The wedding cake is the focal point of the top table and the whole function in general. The wedding cake has traditional significance and it is often considered bad luck not to have a slice of the wedding cake.

There are precise rules for the timing of the cutting of the wedding cake that have become part of tradition. For example, if the wedding reception takes place at lunch or dinner, it is traditional to cut the wedding cake just before the dessert is served.

However, if the reception is to take place in the late afternoon or early evening, the cake is served as soon as the guests arrive. In some traditions the bride and groom cut and eat the first slice together as a symbol of their vows to love, honour and obey each other. The rest of the cake is generally cut by one of the helpers, like the maid of honour or a family relative.

It can be quite difficult to choose the wedding cake. Traditionally, people opt for a white cake with white icing for weddings, however these days, people are becoming more adventurous and are choosing more exotic flavours and colours.

Some couples prefer to have a wedding cake which has different flavours on each layer. While white icing is still the overwhelming favourite, people do order other colours like pink and yellow. Chocolate and mocha are also prevalent. These days you can have what you like. It is your day, after all.

Everybody likes the wedding reception. It is the most well-liked part of the wedding day and everyone looks forward to seeing the cake cut and sharing it with the bride and groom.

If you are thinking about becoming a cake decorator, you have a couple of options to go about it. You could buy a book or a course or get a video in order to teach yourself how to decorate cakes from the simple to the elaborate. You could also go to a night school class to learn the art or cake decoration.

Without a doubt, the very best way to learn cake decorating is to take a course. DVD’s, videos, and books are all well and good, but you cannot talk to them or ask questions. If you take a class for three months or more you will learn more and get a deeper understanding of the art of cake decoration. You will learn how to put real feeling into the decoration of the cake and you will be able to translate the wedding couple’s dreams into a cake that you and they can be proud of.

Have you ever thought about running a wedding car business? Although it can be demanding, because you do not want to let anybody down on their big day, it is also fascinating and exciting.

Some of the benefits are that you get to own beautiful vehicles – maybe a Rolls Royce or a Bentley and they are tax-deductible; you meet new people under happy conditions and you are in the position to help them have a perfect wedding day.

It is a very demanding industry, because you always have to bear in mind the desires of your clients and think about how you can realize and expand their’ wishes. That is difficult enough, but you also have to stay competitive. I hope that the following tips will be helpful.

1] Take care of the conditions under which you keep your vehicles. If you can afford to garage them, they will not collect dust and bird droppings so the paintwork will look better for longer. Do not have a gravel drive, because of possible scratching to the coachwork of the cars.

2] Get one or two really lovely vehicles. You will need to do a bit of investigation to find out what couples in your area like, but as a rule of thumb a Rolls Royce or a Bentley are sure bets. Or maybe a stretch limousine. Old cars go down well too. Build up your fleet of cars gradually but increasingly. Offer your clients as much choice as you can reasonably afford to do.

Many wedding couples will not only require the wedding car, but also vehicles for the guests. Many of them want limousines or old cars for their wedding day. But a lot of other vehicles are required for the guests. Be flexible and agree to decorate the vehicles according to the couple’s wishes with flowers and ribbons.

2] Employ good, compassionate personnel. A fully trained chauffeur is a necessity, but a military style driver can add to your firm’s image.

3] It is a good idea to offer different packages or elements that a couple can use to build a package. So, you could offer transport from the bride’s house to the church as one element. From the church to the restaurant as another element and from there to the chosen hotel, the airport or the railway station, as another element.

4] Make certain that your clients know precisely how long they have sole use of the vehicles for. This is helpful for them, so that they know precisely how long they have to take photos, eat or chat.

Transportation plays a huge and fundamental part in any wedding day celebrations. In fact, poorly timed or scruffy transportation can ruin a wedding day. If you let that happen, your firm’s standing will suffer badly, particularly in a town or village. You will need a high sense of responsibility; reliable, well-trained, sensitive staff and high quality vehicles that look the part. White wedding cars are popular, but other colours are acceptable, especially for the guests.

Are you the type of dog owner who likes to take your friend with you wherever you go? If you are then you know that that there are times when you can do this, but there are also times when you can not, for whatever reason.

On the occasions when that happens, you will usually have to to find a boarding kennels that will take care of your dog while you are away.

A vacation is a time for relaxing, so you do not want to be worrying about your dog, if you can help it. Within your own country, it is not usually a big problem, but if you go abroad, then taking your dog can be more trouble than it is worth. Not only for you, but for your doggy friend as well.

If you can not place your dog with someone it knows, like a member of your family or a neighbour, then the only option is a boarding kennels.

I have put my dog in a bad kennel once and I learned a few lessons from that. I put my Becky in a kennel in a highly regarded village just outside our town. I was happy with what I saw and the sales pitch of the owner, so I went to Spain, thinking that all was fine for both of us. I had a great holiday and went straight to the kennels from the airport on my return, although I had told them a fortnight before that I would pick Becky up the day after my arrival. I just could not wait to see her.

I went to the kennels and they were surprised to see me. Of course, I was a day early. They said that Becky was ‘resting’ and that it would be better to ‘come back tomorrow’. No way! So they took me to see her. I nearly cried. She was sitting in a good sized cage, but on newspaper sodden with pee.

She saw me and just looked down at her paws. I called her name again, but she did not want to know. I paid the bill and put her in the car on the front passenger seat where she always sat. She just looked out the window and showed no interest in me whatsoever.

It took three days before she would speak to me again! The moral of this story is not to be impressed by big adverts or impressive locations as I was. Ask your dog-owning friends, write into the local paper inviting recommendations, phone the local animal protection society or the kennel club or look on the Internet.

Initially, Welsh terriers were bred for hunting rabbits, foxes and badgers, but public opinion and the decline in the lust for blood in general have gone against blood sports and so this native breed of Wales has become a show dog and a pet. Breeders attempt to outdo each other by breeding the Welsh terrier to have a denser wiry coat and deeper colouration. The Welsh terrier is also a popular pet because it is one of the most easy-going terriers.

The Welsh terrier is a fun loving dog. It just loves to run, chase and play, which makes it a smashing companion and a perfect pet. Welsh terriers require lots of exercise, so be prepared for plenty of walks, if you make your mind up to get one.

It is a good idea to ‘socialize’ your dog as soon as possible. This means that you should introduce your Welsh terrier puppy to children and other dogs at an early age. The more you encourage your dog to play with other dogs as a puppy, the less trouble you will have with your dog fighting or barking at other dogs and cats. It’s the same story with children. Children can play very roughly, and a dog could be forgiven for biting back, but it can be avoided by introducing your Welsh terrier puppy to children while it is still young. The child might learn respect, but the dog will learn forbearance.

The Welsh terrier is easily trained, if you like your dog to perform tricks. it is an intelligent breed and, being former hunters, they are good at learning commands and tricks. Train your Welsh terrier with kindheartedness and reiteration. They like to retrieve sticks and play with a ball. Many people train their Welsh terriers to catch a flying Frisbee too.

A Welsh terrier will groom himself quite scrupulously, but you can help out by brushing him once a week in order to remove the dead and loose hair. This will also help reduce the amount of hairs dropping inside your house, although terriers in general, and wire-haired dogs in particular do not lose as much hair as soft coated dogs. You could also lend a hand by wiping him over with a damp cloth from time to time in order to pick up any dust on his coat.

A Welsh terrier is very energetic and very curious, so it is prudent to keep your dog in a yard that has been fenced off. However, the fence needs to be reasonably high, because the Welsh terrier has an excellent capacity to jump due to its long legs.

The Welsh terrier is Britain’s oldest variety of dog, but it is now under pressure. The British kennel club registers only 300 Welsh terrier puppies per year, whereas it registers tens of thousands of puppies of other, more popular, breeds. The Welsh terrier is a strong-willed animal, so it does need a strong-willed and patient owner.

However. if you want a Welsh terrier and you persevere with it, you will never look back. They have a lot to give and, as with so many things in life, you only get out what you are willing to put in.
