Keeping the attention of your dog during training is not always an easy task. Dogs can be very easily distracted, and it is important to not allow the dog training sessions to be ruined by boredom. Making dog training fun for the dog and the human alike is vital to creating a happy, well-adjusted and well-trained dog.

You should provide random positive stimuli throughout the day in order to keep the attention of your dog. Doing things the dog like, like walking in the park, riding in the car, and playing with other dogs, are great methods to keep the dog’s attention, but you must reward him for small successes.

For instance, in order to reward the dog for coming to you when you call him, ask the dog to come to you, without giving any clues about going for a walk, a car ride, or other treats.

After the dog has come over to you and obediently sat down, attach the leash and begin the reward. This can be either the before-mentioned stroll in the park, ride in the car, or anything else the dog likes to do.

Giving some kind of reward, whether a treat, a special outing, or just a tickle behind the ears, every time the dog does something you want him to, is a good way to keep your dog’s motivation while you are dog training.

If your dog knows something good is going to happen every time he obeys your command, he will be motivated to please you every time.

Distraction training.

When training a dog, it is vital to not allow distractions disrupt the training. The dog must be trained to ignore distractions, such as other people, other dogs, other animals and loud noises, and concentrate on what is being taught These kinds of distractions can also be used as rewards when training your dog to come when told.

For example, if your dog enjoys playing with other dogs, whether in a local park or with the neighbour’s dogs, let him play freely with those other dogs. Then go into the park or garden and call your dog.

When he comes to you, provide lots of praise, treats and other rewards, then immediately let the dog to go back to playing with his friends. Repeat this several times and praise the dog each time he comes over to you.

Your dog will soon realize that coming to you means good things (treats and praise) and not bad ones (being removed from the park).

So-called distraction training is one of the most difficult things to teach, because dogs are naturally social animals, and breaking away from the pack is one of the most difficult things you can ask your dog to do. Most dogs will be understandably unwilling to leave their canine companions, but it is important to persist in dog training.

Training the dog to come to you when you call can take some thought on your behalf at first. For example, waving one of his favourite toys, or a lure, is a good way to get your dog’s attention and put the focus back on you. If your dog has been clicker trained, a quick click can be a good motivator too in dog training.

Once the dog begins to get used to coming when called, you can start to reduce and then stop the visual cues and focus on making the dog obey just your voice. It is vital that the dog responds to voice commands alone, as you will not always have a toy or lure to hand.

Nearly every family or social event involves the eating of food and the imbibing or drinks in the celebration. Consider Christmas, birthdays, anniversaries, and weddings. In this article, I would like to talk about that centre piece of the wedding reception: the wedding cake.

The guests come to eat, drink and be merry and the bride’s parents always put a great deal of work into the organization of the wedding reception. The wedding cake is the focal point of the top table and the whole function in general. The wedding cake has traditional significance and it is often considered bad luck not to have a slice of the wedding cake.

There are precise rules for the timing of the cutting of the wedding cake that have become part of tradition. For example, if the wedding reception takes place at lunch or dinner, it is traditional to cut the wedding cake just before the dessert is served.

However, if the reception is to take place in the late afternoon or early evening, the cake is served as soon as the guests arrive. In some traditions the bride and groom cut and eat the first slice together as a symbol of their vows to love, honour and obey each other. The rest of the cake is generally cut by one of the helpers, like the maid of honour or a family relative.

It can be quite difficult to choose the wedding cake. Traditionally, people opt for a white cake with white icing for weddings, however these days, people are becoming more adventurous and are choosing more exotic flavours and colours.

Some couples prefer to have a wedding cake which has different flavours on each layer. While white icing is still the overwhelming favourite, people do order other colours like pink and yellow. Chocolate and mocha are also prevalent. These days you can have what you like. It is your day, after all.

Everybody likes the wedding reception. It is the most well-liked part of the wedding day and everyone looks forward to seeing the cake cut and sharing it with the bride and groom.

If you are thinking about becoming a cake decorator, you have a couple of options to go about it. You could buy a book or a course or get a video in order to teach yourself how to decorate cakes from the simple to the elaborate. You could also go to a night school class to learn the art or cake decoration.

Without a doubt, the very best way to learn cake decorating is to take a course. DVD’s, videos, and books are all well and good, but you cannot talk to them or ask questions. If you take a class for three months or more you will learn more and get a deeper understanding of the art of cake decoration. You will learn how to put real feeling into the decoration of the cake and you will be able to translate the wedding couple’s dreams into a cake that you and they can be proud of.

Have you ever thought about running a wedding car business? Although it can be demanding, because you do not want to let anybody down on their big day, it is also fascinating and exciting.

Some of the benefits are that you get to own beautiful vehicles – maybe a Rolls Royce or a Bentley and they are tax-deductible; you meet new people under happy conditions and you are in the position to help them have a perfect wedding day.

It is a very demanding industry, because you always have to bear in mind the desires of your clients and think about how you can realize and expand their’ wishes. That is difficult enough, but you also have to stay competitive. I hope that the following tips will be helpful.

1] Take care of the conditions under which you keep your vehicles. If you can afford to garage them, they will not collect dust and bird droppings so the paintwork will look better for longer. Do not have a gravel drive, because of possible scratching to the coachwork of the cars.

2] Get one or two really lovely vehicles. You will need to do a bit of investigation to find out what couples in your area like, but as a rule of thumb a Rolls Royce or a Bentley are sure bets. Or maybe a stretch limousine. Old cars go down well too. Build up your fleet of cars gradually but increasingly. Offer your clients as much choice as you can reasonably afford to do.

Many wedding couples will not only require the wedding car, but also vehicles for the guests. Many of them want limousines or old cars for their wedding day. But a lot of other vehicles are required for the guests. Be flexible and agree to decorate the vehicles according to the couple’s wishes with flowers and ribbons.

2] Employ good, compassionate personnel. A fully trained chauffeur is a necessity, but a military style driver can add to your firm’s image.

3] It is a good idea to offer different packages or elements that a couple can use to build a package. So, you could offer transport from the bride’s house to the church as one element. From the church to the restaurant as another element and from there to the chosen hotel, the airport or the railway station, as another element.

4] Make certain that your clients know precisely how long they have sole use of the vehicles for. This is helpful for them, so that they know precisely how long they have to take photos, eat or chat.

Transportation plays a huge and fundamental part in any wedding day celebrations. In fact, poorly timed or scruffy transportation can ruin a wedding day. If you let that happen, your firm’s standing will suffer badly, particularly in a town or village. You will need a high sense of responsibility; reliable, well-trained, sensitive staff and high quality vehicles that look the part. White wedding cars are popular, but other colours are acceptable, especially for the guests.

Dog owners will tell you that there is no given method for choosing a good name for a new dog. Whether they have to think of girl or boy dog names, usually they will choose something that sounds cool or a name they like rather than putting some thought into what the name really means. Popular boy dog names have a variety of meanings, but more often than not the meaning will not suit the dog it is given to. Below is a quick guide to the top five boy dog names and what they really mean.

Undoubtedly, one of the first things you do when you get a new dog or puppy is choose a dog name for him or her. For most dog owners, this actually takes little thought. They just pick a dog name at random and that is the name by which the poor mite will be known forever. However, there are certain issues that ought to be taken into consideration when going through dog names in order to make sure that you choose the right one.

First of all, dogs sense attitude and tone of voice better than humans can. If you choose a dog name for comic effect or after someone you don’t like, your dog will know by your tone of voice that something is not right. The result could well be that, their attitude may change towards you or they may refuse to respond to your commands. Dogs’ names should mean something but should not be detrimental to their training, so you ought to take your dog’s name seriously.

Despite dogs being very intelligent creatures, they can’t process the same amount of information that we can. As a result, dog names should never be more than two syllables long. If they are more than that, most dogs will not respond. Max, Sam, Becky, Lady, Molly and the like are excellent dog names because they are short and the syllables are easily heard. They respond to these dog names and that will improve your probability of training them successfully.

However, dogs’ names should help them form an identity of their own. Common names don’t really allow them to do that, so finding something simple but unusual can help their characters a great deal without damaging their ability to respond to a command.

Max: This is perhaps the most popular boy dog name and the meaning is probably the reason why many people pick it for their hound. It literally means “the most”. After all, every dog owner thinks that their dog is the ‘most’.

Jake: Jake is short for Jacob, which means “champion”. This is an apt boy dog name, if your puppy takes over the whole house within a short time of getting inside it!

Buddy: Buddy is a familiarization of Budd, which means “messenger”. This boy dog name could suit a farm dog or one you might possibly train to retrieve the newspaper from the porch in the morning. It is a very popular boy dog name throughout the USA.

Bailey: The boy dog name Bailey is French and means “steward”. This is fairly suitable if your dog is responsible and sensible, so it is probably not suitable for a Jack Russel puppy, for example!

Sam: Sam apparently means “an answer to prayers”. This is a great boy dog name for dogs that are easy to train and are largely quiet!

Not many people consult a name’s meaning when picking boy dog names, so instead of just going with your first thought, it would be worth taking the time to choose a dog’s name that is actually apt for your dog. After all, it doesn’t cost anything to spend some time thinking about your dog’s name.

We all know that it is not unusual for pet owners to permit their pets to sleep with them at night. In deed, one third of pet owners have at some time, permitted their pets to sleep on their beds. Dogs provide a companionship that can’t be given by any other breed of animal. However, this doesn’t mean to say that some people do not let their cats or another pets sleep with them too.

It is made easier too because dogs have a sleep pattern that is very much like ours. Dogs often rely on their owners with complete trust, which makes them a bit more relaxed during the night. This explains why most dogs fall to sleep easily and later on, enter into deep sleeps where REM sleep activities can occur. In fact, once dogs enter this stage, the owner needs to call them several times before they can truly be woken up.

Certainly, many of us have observed a dog ‘running’ during sleep and barking while asleep too. These dogs are believed to be dreaming. Breathing patterns can also be observed among dogs while they are asleep. For example, there are breeds which breathe heavily and there are breeds which breathe more lightly. The dogs that are heavy breathers are much more likely to snore than those which do not breathe quite so heavily.

Often, dogs that snore can be rather a nuisance during the night, depending on the degree and frequency of the phenomenon. Like with humans, there are various reasons why dogs snore, although most deal with the obstruction of the passage of air in the throat, which in turn is caused by the collapse of certain areas along the throat. It is the same problem as with humans.

A dog that snores very loudly should be examined for different issues to see which treatment could be best applied. Some dogs are especially susceptible to specific allergies that can cause obstruction in the windpipe. It may also be that there is some excess tissue in the areas that are preventing proper breathing. It is best for a veterinarian to check out various factors through careful evaluation of the dog’s anatomical features and physical symptoms in general.

Is you dog overweight? I ask this because, as with humans, obese dogs are more likely to snore than thin ones. This is because they will have more flesh surrounding their throats. Therefore, they have excess fat hanging around their throats, which can cause obstructions. Once this problem has been corrected, the chances of snoring will be reduced. This would not only be good for your dogs, but you may eventually enjoy a decent night’s sleep too.

The facial features of the dog in general affect the amount of snoring too. For example, some dogs have squashed faces which narrows their nasal passages to a greater or lesser degree. The construction of their nasal passages also largely contributes to their problems in breathing. They are very much like humans with a cold, who are forced to breathe using only twenty-five percent of their nostril capacity. Dog breeds with shorter faces need to expend lots of effort to breathe properly. It costs them more effort to breathe and they are also more likely to snore loudly.

Minor surgery can give your dog great relief. However, be certain that, before you take any decision, you are well educated about the potential risks and consequences of surgery to stop your dog snoring. Most procedures are irreversible, so careful thought should be given to any operation you allow. In fact, it is best to follow the recommendations offered by your veterinary doctor.

Consider your training plan. It may be viable to get some dog training services for free of charge from volunteers depending upon where you live. There are also the more expensive services, which can run as high as $100 or more per hour-long training session. The charge will vary depending upon the trainer’s skill, your location and the type and duration of the program. Group plans are likely to be less high-priced than individual programs.

Training your dog to ignore distractions may be challenging as puppies are social animals and they typically love both people and other animals. However, it is essential that you are able to command your dog’s attention in spite of of what is going on around you so it is very important to work on this. You can try to get his attention with a favorite toy or a treat as a enticement to get the attention back to you. If your dog is clicker trained, he should bring his awareness back to you with a click.

Spaying or neutering your dog is not only a satisfactory way to avoid litters of puppies, but it is advantageous for your dog’s health. Also, it will eliminate many aggression complications and you will have less behavior complications.

In order to keep your dog’s attention you can do things that he enjoys but you must also reward him for little successes. Do not offer a food reward every time, however, because irregular reinforcement is actually much more successful than continuous reinforcement because he never realizes when he will get the treat so he will keep doing the behavior on the hope that he will get the food reward. Also too many food treats can be bad for your dog’s wellbeing and weight. However, love and attention should be always given.

It could be complicated to train your puppy but in order to have a strong, long-lasting connection with your dog you must commit to training. There are diverse online resources along with a lot of online dog-training videos that will show you step-by-step just what to do. Videos can be one of the most valuable tools because you can actually see other owners train their dogs and you can also review the video at any time. Inquire around to your family and friends and even folks from online to see what kind of success they have had with dog training videos and other resources.

You should have much more success with your dog over the long term if you don’t let him get away with derogatory behavior as a puppy.

There are many possible rewards and advantages to having a dog, however, without proper training a dog can essentially raise your stress level rather than decrease it. When your dog jumps all over an important caller to your house, or he barks and barks for no basis, or he chews up your favorite shoes, it can be very nerve-racking. That is one reason why it is so imperative to start training your new puppy right away and to at all times be consistent.

Dogs like to be trained. The better trained a dog is the happier and more comfortable they are. As an owner, you will also take pleasure in having him more. Dogs obtain joy from following the leader of the pack because they are instinctive pack animals. You must just make sure that the “alpha dog” or the head of the pack is you.

When dogs do not have any obedience training they are inclined to be to a great extent more nervous and rambunctious than usual. This is frequently due to the fact that they really don’t know what is expected of them and that makes them uncomfortable. Training your dog well will keep him safer and happier.

There are many ways that you can train your dog. You can always get hold of a good book or a video and there are also many wonderful courses that you can find online. Very nearly every city has dog obedience classes that you can go to or skilled dog trainers that you can take on.

Every dog needs to embark on their training as soon as they arrive home. Even old dogs can learn and every dog will act in response to encouraging reinforcement and every dog will also want to satisfy the new leader or “alpha dog”.

The most victory in dog training comes when you bring in teaching in playtime and just have fun. You are still teaching vital training but you both are enjoying the time you spend and you are not placing nervous tension on your dog by forcing things. All dogs are unusual and your dog may learn some things very promptly while other things take more time. Just take pleasure in the course and both of you will profit.

It is vital to use positive reinforcement with either praise or treats to acknowledge when your dog does something right. You need to do it immediately so that he will relate the good feeling of the reinforcement to the proper behavior. The same thing goes for any kind of reprimand. It must always be completed immediately.

Dogs cannot rationalize like a human being can so if you scold your dog for something that he did hours ago, he will not realize why he is in trouble. Your warning will be utterly useless and it will just scare him and upset your training efforts.

The very most significant thing that you need to be attentive of when you are training a dog is that you and all of the human being members of your family need to outrank him in the pecking order. You must be the leader or the “alpha dog”. You can rapidly endorse this in his mind if you rub his belly as soon as he turns over. He will have to acquiesce to you and he will then regard you as the leader. All of your education will be easier if you are recognized in his mind as the leader.

It is always thrilling to acquire a new puppy but you will want to be set to teach your puppy and train him to be a valued part of your family. Before you bring your new puppy back home there are a few things that you will need to consider. It is easier to have the stuff that you will need on hand rather than to try to get them afterward.

When you visit the pet store you will see that there is an profusion of things that you can buy for your new puppy. Some of these things are good to have and others are not really needed at all.

Probably the most critical item that you will want is a crate. Dogs like to have their own space that is pleasant and comfy just for them. All of your training will be easier if you make the most of a crate. Get one that is the correct size for your puppy. If you take your puppy with you in the car very often you may want to get two.

You will also want a collar and a leash. Get at least one collar that fits well and then you can get special training collars later. One six-foot leash that feels nice in your hand is also needed.

Plan what your puppy will eat and get some food and water dishes. Stainless steel is more often than not best. Try to find out what type of foodstuff your puppy has been used to eating and get enough of that for at least a few weeks. All dietetic changes should be made step by step.

In order to be equipped to start your training at once you will need to have some soft treats to reward your puppy and also some type of aversive. An aversive will discourage your dog from disobedient activities as it is something that is absolutely harmless but your dog doesn’t like it and will do everything he can to evade it. A clicker that makes a noise or a squirt bottle that squirts water are examples of different types of an aversive.

Puppies also need to chew, so you will want to get some chewing objects and some toys. You may want to just start with one or two until you learn what your puppy really likes. After your puppy settles in you will soon know what things work best for his personality.

When you are prepared you will be able to have more fun with your puppy, training him to walk on a leash and play. All of your training will be easier also if you are equipped.
